This is a rarely used, never abused, semi-proportional Kyosho Hyperfly R/C electric helicopter that I purchased new. It's powered by a 380 Mabuchi electric motor and uses a 7.2 volt 1100 mah Nicad battery pack with a Tamiya-style connector. It requires a standard two-channel radio to operate.
The design of this clean, quiet electric chopper eliminates the need for an expensive four or five channel radio and a complicated rear rotor assembly. Instead, it can be guided in any direction with only two channels and requires a slight but steady headwind crossing it's large tail section to hover and maintain a stable, forward flight pattern. It also requires hand launching which helps avoid the more difficult and potentially disasterous (and expensive!) crashes associated with manual take-offs by novice pilots. However, with the addition of only an electronic speed control (ESC) this chopper can be made to take off from a dead stop just like the real thing.
These features, along with an automatic shut-off switch that's triggered any time the model touches down makes the chopper much easier to control and ideal for first-time or intermediate-level modelers who are looking to break into the exciting world of R/C helicopters without having to be an expert pilot or spend a ton of money to do it.
I've included photos with the radio gear (two servos, receiver) installed so you can get an idea of their location and layout within the fuselage. However, these radio components are NOT included with the sale. You will have to provide and install your own two-channel radio and will need a battery charger capable of charging the 7.2 volt battery pack.
With the sale I am including the original yellow battery pack, assembly and instruction manual, instructional video (nearly 15 minutes long), three spare rotor blades, three spare landing gear braces, and three spare spur/rotor gears at no extra charge. The spare parts are all brand new, in their original packaging, and probably worth more than the total starting price alone.
I have been in the hobby for over 20 years and have taken meticulous, professional-quality care of this model. However, there are two small cracks in the fuselage that I have repaired with clear tape and some of the yellow paint/decals have peeled off. Don't let that fool you though because this model is in otherwise very good operating and overall condition.
This is a very nice helicopter for the price and you'd be hard-pressed to find one like it anywhere especially one that includes the original manual, video and brand new spare parts so don't miss out!!
